Freedom in Rock Climbing

Chickens & Beebee guns
So there are many house that have two levels in Hawaii and most of them to not have doorbells so knocking can sometimes be a challenge. Well, the other day we knocked and no one answered, but the person upstairs came out on there balcony above our heads and started shooting the chickens in their front yard with a beebee gun. They had no idea we were watching. We just silently laughed until all the chickens were gone and the person went back inside. I guess we'll try that house again next week.

Well this week was pretty amazing. I have a firm testimony of setting goals and having faith that God will help you to reach them. We set a goal to visit 15 member households in our area this week and we ended up visiting 18! So great! Hard work, trust, and obedience really pays off - even if it is spiritually instead of in numbers.

Freedom in Rock Climbing
This week I learned that there is freedom in obedience. A talk that a man shared in church related this idea to rock climbing.  He used to be an avid climber and said that he would always use a rope and harness. He could have free climbed without them. It's not necessary and many people who do it are totally fine... but WITH the rope and harness he was able to try harder routes and more challenging maneuvers. The rope and harness gave him freedom. It is the same way with the commandments. Every single thing that God asks us to do is in perfect wisdom of someone who loves us and wants to give us every opportunity.
How does [insert commandment here] make YOU free? Try it!

I wish you all well this week and don't forget set goals and be exactly obedient to the very best of your ability.
"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" [See above]. -Mark 8:35-37

Much love,

Photo 1 - One of the most fun P-days ever!! I taught them all a fast game with lot of yelling the word "Hy-yaa!!" Good way to get rid of stress and prepare for the week.

Photo 2 - Face-sized Mango! I am learning how to cut them properly. Woo-hoo! SOO good!
